Holden’s story is one of resilience, innovation, and a passion for both technology and community.

A Personal Journey of Growth and Discovery
Holden shared her deeply personal journey of self-discovery and transition as a transgender woman in the tech industry. From her early days in Canada, where healthcare options for trans individuals were limited to conversion therapy, to moving to the United States and finding a supportive community, Holden’s story is inspiring. She highlighted the significance of visibility and community, and how moving to America allowed her to meet other trans individuals and find her place in the tech world.

Overcoming Challenges in Tech
Holden’s entry into the tech world was driven by her determination to overcome a learning disability known as dyslexic dysgraphia, which made handwriting extremely challenging. With the support of special education teachers who provided her with a computer, she was able to express herself and dive into the world of technology. This early support and her subsequent experiences in computer camps and educational programs paved the way for her successful career in tech.
