YOLO and the Art of Saying Yes: Embracing Life’s Unexpected Canvas

They say “life is short,” but sometimes, it’s too easy to get caught up in the day-to-day grind and forget that simple truth.

Enter the YOLO philosophy: You Only Live Once.

While some might see it as a justification for recklessness, for me, it became a gateway to unexpected growth and self-discovery.

My story starts on a seemingly mundane Tuesday afternoon. I was buried in work emails, feeling the familiar weight of the endless to-do list, when a notification popped up — a message from my best friend, Maya. “Fancy joining a life drawing class tonight?” it read.

Now, I wouldn’t exactly call myself artistic.

In fact, the last time I picked up a paintbrush was probably in elementary school.

But then I looked at my calendar, filled with predictable activities, and a familiar voice echoed in my head: “YOLO!”

Taking a deep breath, I typed “Yes!” and sent it off, a tiny spark of excitement igniting within me.

Ooops!!! :)

That evening, I found myself in a small, brightly lit studio surrounded by easels and strangers.

The instructor, a warm and encouraging woman named Anna, guided us through the process of drawing a live model.

It was a humbling experience — I struggled with proportions, shading, and the sheer audacity of putting brush to canvas in front…
